The Evaluation of Serum Pseudocholinesterase

DESPITE numerous tests used in the diagnosis of liver disease, in manv cases it is still difficult to decide whether there is liver damage, and if so, how much. This study was done to evaluate serum pseudocholinesterase estimation as a routine test of liver function, and to conmpare it with certain commonly used tests, viz., serum bilirubin, zinc sulphate flocculation test, thymol turbidity test, alkaline phosphatase, and blood transanminase levels. Also to show if it is of anv value in distinguishing between intrahepatic and extrahepatic jaundice.
